Trying out color - my own eye.
Skin b/w eye green/brown in several shades and opacities on a layer above the b/w eye with the layer set to "color mode".
Apart from the looks/colors of the Grapphire 4 I don't notice any differences with my old Grapphire 3 (apart from the pen - I prefer the Grapphire 3 pen, but I grip very low and maybe I just need to get used to the new one where the buttons are different and placed a bit higher. I do like the rubberized grip, and the cool blue led prism thingie ).
It's also got a scroll wheel at the top which is nice for zooming in Photoshop or surfing the web.
I've had my grapphire 3 for 2 or 3 years (handwriting and font making, not art) and the only problem is that after a while the point can break or get sharp edges with use or when you drop it.
You can buy replacement points (might be handy to add when you order to save on shipping because at some point you probably need a new one)
Very sturdy tablet and pen that can take a little abuse and still work (I can pull apart the grapphire 3, put it back together and it still works great. I stepped on it and the cat had a go at it..)
So, in short, it's a great tablet And I think Wacom is best when it comes to tablets (I've seen 2 other brands.. less sturdy and not as "comfy" a pen)
I had a look at your gallery and if that's what you can do with a mouse, you're going to love a tablet! You can work much more precisely and it's less strain on your hand/wrist.
If you have the money and space on your desk (!) maybe go for 1 size bigger than A6 (which is what I've got and it's the smallest), but this really works fine too. And it wasn't too expensive, and they shipped extremely fast!
You're review on the tablets seemed very professional! And has helped me some to the decision that I'm probably going to go with the Wacom Graphire4 XL white addition.. The XL is still only A5, but I think thats more than what I'd need any way surely.
Thanks again for the help, and keep up the amazing art!
Cheers
How do you find the Graphire 4?
I'm thinking on buying one, I really need some sort of tablet..
